They Actually Let Me in This Booth?

Hi everyone,

Well, it’s official—I’ve just finished recording the audiobook for The Spirit Collection of Thorne Hall! Let me tell you, stepping into the recording booth to narrate my own story was both a dream come true and a surprising workout for my vocal cords (and this is coming from a very out-of-practice, trained opera singer)

If that's news to you, well, now you know I have a performing arts background, so when Dreamscape Media acquired the audiobook rights to Thorne Hall, I couldn’t resist auditioning for the chance to narrate Elegy’s story myself. After all, who knows the characters better than the person who spent so many nights living in their world?

Recording at Cedar House in Seattle was an incredible experience. Somehow, I tripped over words I wrote (how does anyone say “preternatural” without pausing?), and yes, I rewarded myself with a glass of wine after each session. Now, the thought of sharing my voice—my actual voice—with you in just a few weeks feels both exhilarating and, honestly? Nerve-racking. Make no mistake, singing is a very different skill from narrating.

Anyway, whether you’re a lover of Gothic romance, an audiobook enthusiast, or just curious to hear what my “dulcet tones” sound like, mark your calendars for February 11th. I can’t wait for you to hear Elegy’s journey come to life in a whole new way!

Don’t forget to pre-order The Spirit Collection of Thorne Hall and follow me for more behind-the-scenes adventures!

With love (and a slightly hoarse voice),

Jamie
